The Story Behind My Little Prince-Inspired Pressed Flower Art
From the moment I first read The Little Prince, I felt a deep connection to its tender exploration of love, loss, and the invisible threads that bind us across time and space. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's words carried me to a universe where a single rose could be more precious than an entire field of flowers, and where love transformed even distant stars into reminders of home.
This beloved story planted a seed in my heart, and that seed eventually bloomed into art.

The Rose and the Stars
One of my most cherished pieces is a pressed flower artwork inspired by the relationship between the little prince and his rose. In the story, the prince leaves his planet, longing to understand the world beyond. Yet, through his journey, he discovers that his rose is special not because she is perfect, but because of the time and care he devoted to her. Love makes her unique.

I wanted to capture that sentiment in my art. The piece shows the little prince and his rose sitting together on their planet, watching the stars bloom across the sky. I used real flowers carefully collected from my backyard and pressed throughout the seasons, honoring the natural cycles of life and growth. Just as the prince tended to his rose, I gently preserve these flowers, allowing them to carry their own quiet stories into my work.

Love That Echoes Through the Universe
One of my favorite quotes from the book has always been:
"If you love a flower that lives on a star, it is sweet to look at the sky at night. All the stars are a-bloom with flowers..."
This line stayed with me as I arranged the flowers for the artwork. I envisioned the stars as blossoms — each one a reflection of love, memory, and connection. The prince’s rose, though far away, remains ever-present through the stars, just as the people and places we cherish never truly leave us.

A Timeless Message of Love and Care
Through my art, I hope to share the timeless message of The Little Prince: that love, though invisible, shapes the way we see the world. It transforms ordinary moments into extraordinary ones and reminds us that what is essential is felt with the heart.

Creating this piece has been a labor of love, blending my passion for storytelling with my devotion to nature. It’s a reminder that even across great distances, love blooms — like stars scattered across the night sky.
I hope this artwork brings a sense of wonder and quiet joy to those who encounter it, just as The Little Prince has brought to me.
