Care Instructions
For Cyanotype Printed Clothing:
- Phosphate-Free and Sodium-Free Detergent: Use a laundry detergent that is phosphate-free and sodium-free. This choice is environmentally friendly and effective in preserving the colors of the prints.
- Hand Washing Preferred: For delicate or fine fabrics, hand washing is often best. If you choose to use a washing machine, select a gentle cycle.
- Temperature Setting: Always follow the recommended temperature setting on the label when washing your clothing. Cold water is generally preferred; avoid hot water as it can cause colors to fade.
- Inside-Out Washing: Before washing, turn your clothing inside out. This helps prevent color fading and reduces wear on the fabric.
- Drying Methods: Avoid exposing the clothing to direct sunlight or high heat. Dry it in the shade or at a low temperature setting.
- Ironing Tips: If ironing is necessary, adhere to the temperature setting specified on the clothing label. Iron the garment inside out and use a low heat setting.
- Avoid Chemicals: Refrain from using bleach or similar chemicals, as they may bleach the colors of the prints.
These guidelines ensure your cyanotype printed clothing remains vibrant and well-maintained over time.
For Cyanotype Printed Jewelry:
- A little love goes a long way! When not wearing your jewelry, be sure to store it in the pouch it came in. This helps prevent scratching and maintains colour for vermeil and silver pieces.
- Always remove your jewelry when applying scents, lotions and sprays - or even better, always put your jewelry on last before heading out the door.
- For sterling silver jewelry, simply wipe jewelry with silver polishing cloth. For gold plated jewelry, clean jewelry with soft fabric cloth or microfiber cloth.
